Dried, then Bursting

October’s hydrangea blooms

dried in a crafted vase

on the vanity, and

already, early May,

the bursting of the buds

follows, harkens summer’s

later blooms.

Who can keep up

with the call— for help?

always percolating

beneath each breath,

each thought, each blossom.

Persephone, is that you?
