A time of focusing,
first noticed when pushing
toward finals in college,
papers were due –
finding a seat in the library
a challenge even after midnight.
But it goes back way, way before
the academics set up shop in Paris.
Not only in the daily drain of the light –
I see it in the deer out back,
foraging with strict intent
as snow cover now all but inevitable,
November’s curtain, ready to fall.
(Poems from this recent run are collected here: Eulogy for November: a chapbook)
nice poem;it’s good when you can bundle poems together to fit a theme or subject; I’ve got a few chapbooks but a who,e lot of poems that are waiting to find a home in one —
I hear that!
Lovely. Thank You. 😊
Thanks. ☺️
The image is fitting for this last day of November…love the curling, brown grass—and the words that go with it.
Glad you do.
Nice imagery to send November out on a fitting note.
It was a frosty morning.
Your poem expresses unity and an awareness of the seasons. Changing energies do affect all creatures. ✌🏻
Thanks for sharing that, and taking the time. ✌️
You are welcome, Richard.
Lovely poem
I appreciate you taking the time to say so.
Serious and yet, big fun ….hat’s off
Glad you think so! 🤠
Cool image, especially the foreground.
Also love the clarity of the imagery in the poem that goes with it.
Glad we met.
