Portal in a Nor’easter

Snowing in Central Park by Richard Reeve

I professed my love

on a pure blanket of snow,

a night much like this,

seeking midnight solace

and privacy

at the Sheep’s Meadow,

hidden yet in Central Park

specific,

amongst the many millions

crowded around the harbor

these past dark centuries,

hunkering down for yet another

nor’easter.
