Slipping and Sliding

Late winter storms produce

(I learned this from my neighbor) –

greasy snow.

Even two inches of it,

this stuff not really fluff,

but enough to send a 4 x 4

heavy duty truck

straight into a ditch.

Oh shit!

  1. mother nature tends to do this from time to time – the wet coast is not immune to this! Glad that you are safe and i hope that the 4×4 is still good to go!

  2. Hi Richard
Oh dear. We are originally from Scandinavia and love to drive on snow. It’s just experience to avoid ending up in the ditch. But greasy snow sounds not so nice.

  3. Must be terrifying,
Glad that there was not too much harm.

Greasy snow… my neighbor told me it was called “coulant” in french.
Inuit have “I think” a thousand name for snow… or so the legends says.

Take care, be prudent on the road sir.

  4. Slip Sliding Away ….. One of my favourite songs from Paul Simon. It is about all the “greasy snow” we have to deal with in our lives. We try to go forward but sometimes end up in the ditch of destiny.
