body

lateral epicondylitis

Each winter we burn

fourteen cords of wood

to heat home and studio.

It’s a lot of wood.

And each piece is lifted,

carried, and thrown

into the furnace.

I do not play tennis,

but I have a bad case

of tennis elbow,

otherwise known as

lateral epicondylitis

Spine

Time to get use

to the stiffness

in my back.

My body aches

while resting.

My body aches

while rising.

Tell me Walt,

is this singing

the body electric?
